Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how (“OrbitFind”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our website at orbit-find.com
(the “Site”) and our Chrome extension (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1) What we collect
- Search queries. When you submit a search, your query is used to deliver results. If our results are provided by a partner (e.g., Yahoo), your query will be shared with that partner to return results and ads.
- Autosuggest input. If you use our type-ahead suggestions, partial queries you type may be sent to Microsoft Bing Autosuggest via our server-side proxy to generate suggestions.
- Device & technical data. Standard server logs (e.g., IP address, date/time, user-agent, referrer, pages viewed) for security and reliability.
- Support messages. If you contact us, we collect the information you provide (e.g., email, message content).
- Cookies/identifiers. We aim to use only essential cookies/identifiers required to operate the Service and prevent abuse. We do not use them to profile you across sites.
We do not create user accounts and the extension itself does not track your browsing.
2) How we use information
- Provide the Service (show search results, suggestions, and related features)
- Maintain security, prevent fraud/abuse, and debug issues
- Measure and improve performance and user experience
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
3) Legal bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)
We rely on legitimate interests (operating a search service and keeping it secure), performance of a contract (providing what you request), and consent where required (e.g., non-essential cookies, if used).
4) Sharing & disclosures
- Search partner: To return results and ads, queries may be processed by a partner such as Yahoo. Their use of data is governed by their own terms and privacy notices.
- Autosuggest: Partial queries for suggestions may be processed by Microsoft Bing Autosuggest via our proxy.
- Service providers: Hosting, CDN, and security providers who help us run the Service (bound by confidentiality obligations).
- Legal & safety: If required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
We do not sell your personal information.
5) Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymise it. Retention periods may vary for security, troubleshooting, and legal compliance.
6) Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No method is 100% secure; you are responsible for keeping your devices and connections safe.
7) International transfers
We may process and store information outside your country (including the UK, EEA, and US). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses).
8) Your rights
EEA/UK residents may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and data portability. California residents may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt-out of certain sharing, and to non-discrimination. To exercise rights, email privacy@orbit-find.com. We may need to verify your identity.
9) Do Not Track
Some browsers offer “Do Not Track.” We currently do not respond to DNT signals.
10) Children
The Service is intended for users who are at least the age of majority in their country (and not for children under 16). If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
11) Third-party sites
The Service may link to third-party sites/services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies; review them before use.
12) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows when changes were made. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
